'Ekrem İmamoğlu' stir in AKP corridors: That comparison will make Erdoğan very angry!
The restructuring process that began in the CHP following the conviction of İmamoğlu continues to be a topic of discussion in AKP corridors. Warning that this process could create a groundswell, the AKP front used the expression, "It's like additive manufacturing... A political wave is emerging from the depths."
Evaluations made in AK Party corridors regarding the political process that began following the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu have brought a striking analogy to the agenda. Some figures within the ruling party are comparing the restructuring process that has begun in the CHP to "additive manufacturing."
The analogy in question was conveyed to the public by experienced journalist Nuray Babacan. In her column in Nefes Gazetesi, Babacan shared an interesting analysis regarding the struggle and transformation process that began in the CHP following the process referred to in AKP corridors as the "March 19 coup" in the wake of İmamoğlu's arrest.
Babacan relayed the "additive manufacturing" analogy made in the corridors as follows:
"Think of three-dimensional production. You create something from scratch using a printer. Similarly, the process in the CHP is interpreted as a transformation that starts from scratch and progresses layer by layer."
It is stated that this analogy in AKP circles carries the belief that the CHP's management of the process will eventually turn into a large wave coming from the depths. This situation is being evaluated with the thought that it could create an impact that will not be limited to internal CHP restructuring, and could even evolve into public support that will challenge the ruling party.
''THE CHP'S STORY WILL SPREAD''
In her article, Babacan also drew attention to the reflections of this political change in polls. Pointing out that the CHP is ahead of the AKP in many polls, she stated, "For this reason, a long-term story is being attempted to be written."
"All these actions could turn into a deep wave coming from the depths. The use of additive manufacturing, which revolutionized modern production processes, in a political analysis is a quite striking analogy in terms of its results."
According to what Babacan conveyed in her column, some groups within the AKP believe that this process in the CHP should not be underestimated. Especially when the tendencies of young voters are combined with the increasing demands for justice and democracy in society, this "layered construction" process could turn into a stronger opposition wave.
Another notable assessment in AKP corridors is that İmamoğlu's arrest has reunited the opposition rather than fragmenting it. It is reported that this arrest has created a backlash in public opinion, and has generated sympathy for the CHP, especially among undecided voters.
