Erdoğan and Bahçeli will be very upset by this news: Pro-government journalist shares observations on the 'opening' process

The commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) has begun its work as part of the new 'opening' process, which was architected by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli and named 'Terror-Free Turkey' by the government.

The National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission will hold its third meeting tomorrow.

While there is curiosity about what will happen in the next stages of the process, debates regarding its transparency continue. In particular, the confidentiality decision taken during the second meeting sparked reactions.

Pro-government journalist Cem Küçük, who has been in his hometown for some time due to his father's death, shared his observations from the region regarding the 'opening' process.

Speaking on Habertürk, Küçük stated that the process is not viewed very favorably in his hometown and emphasized that citizens do not find the process transparent. Reminding that Aydın Ünal, who once wrote speeches for AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, expressed similar impressions in his column in Yeni Şafak, Küçük said the following:

"I believe that everything discussed should be known by the public. I think the biggest deficiency in the 'Terror-Free Turkey' process is the lack of sufficient transparency. My observations in Anatolia and the Eastern Black Sea region over the last month are in this direction.

Aydın Ünal expressed a similar view in his column in Yeni Şafak on July 25. There is dissatisfaction among the public regarding this issue, and the main reason for this is a serious lack of transparency in the process. The uncertainty of the process, the lack of a roadmap, or acting with the mentality of 'we'll figure it out as we go' increases this discomfort. If there is a roadmap, we are not aware of it.

I hope that criticisms on this subject will be taken into account by the government. Aydın Ünal, who once wrote speech texts for the President, stated that he encountered similar criticisms in the 7-8 provinces he visited.

When I toured the entire Eastern Black Sea region, I observed that these criticisms were quite intense. Specifically: The public primarily thinks that the process is not transparent and asks the question, 'What was the need for this process?'

I am speaking on behalf of the people of Giresun, Rize, Trabzon, and Ordu; as a journalist who analyzes this region well, I can clearly say that AKP, MHP, BBP, YRP, and even IYI Party voters, especially the base of the AKP and MHP, think that the process is not transparent.

Furthermore, the public expresses that President Erdoğan is not in a position that fully embraces this process. For this reason, what Erdoğan will say on this matter is seen as quite important by the public."
