Fight breaks out at TFF after derby: Ceremony dispute

The Super Cup final played between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe made headlines not only for the action on the pitch but also for a fight that occurred in the protocol tribune. A dispute between TFF officials following the match resulted in a physical altercation.

In the Super Cup final played with its new format this season, Fenerbahçe left the pitch as champions with a 2-0 victory. Fenerbahçe's goals were scored by Matteo Guendouzi in the 28th minute and Jayden Oosterwolde in the 48th minute.

However, the tension following the match did not take place on the field, but in the protocol tribune.

According to statements by Tahir Kum, the fight broke out between TFF Secretary General Abdullah Ayaz and TFF Board Member Burak Akkan due to a dispute over who would participate in the ceremony.

It was stated that as the fight escalated, TFF Vice President Fuat Göktaş intervened to try to calm the parties down, but the argument then continued between Göktaş and Akkan.

TENSION ESCALATES TO PHYSICAL INTERVENTION

As the argument intensified, the fight included swearing and physical intervention. It was reported that Mecnun Odyakmaz's bodyguard and people in the vicinity intervened to try to break up the fight.

However, as the dimensions of the incident grew, the matter was reported to TFF President Hacıosmanoğlu.

As the fight grew, phone traffic increased, and while those who intervened hoped for a peaceful resolution, the tension rose even further.
