First statement from DEM Party following the '13-point demand' report that dominated the agenda! What was discussed in the meeting with Erdoğan?

The DEM Party Imralı Delegation, consisting of Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan, went to the Presidential Palace on April 10 to meet with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the new peace process.

It had been reported that the DEM Party, which made contact with Erdoğan for the first time in 13 years, presented a 13-point list of demands during the meeting.

According to the report by Başak Kaya from Sözcü, the DEM Party made the following requests during the meeting:

1. The isolation of Öcalan should be lifted. Freedom of communication should be guaranteed.

2. A special law should be enacted for the PKK's disarmament process.

3. The principle of equal and free citizenship should be guaranteed by law.

4. A draft law on Democratic Transformation and Peace should be prepared.

5. Ill prisoners should be released.

6. A special authorized commission should be established in Parliament for the peace process.

7. The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) should meet with all political parties to prepare a consensus text.

8. The practice of appointing trustees to municipalities should end.

9. Imprisoned mayors should be released, tried without arrest, and reinstated to their duties.

10. Draft laws regarding the 'right to hope' should be brought to the agenda.

11. Obstacles to freedom of organization should be removed.

12. The current Anti-Terror Law should be amended.

13. Decisions of the ECHR and the Constitutional Court must be implemented.

The report in question dominated the agenda. DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan made a statement regarding the matter on her social media account.

"NO LIST OF DEMANDS HAS BEEN PRESENTED TO PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN"

In her post titled 'Mandatory Statement', Doğan stated that no list of demands was presented to Erdoğan.

Doğan's statement is as follows:

"The DEM Party Imralı Delegation evaluated how the process would proceed and develop with President Erdoğan. A written statement was made regarding the matter after the meeting.

Despite this, the items presented in some news reports as a '13-Point List of Demands' are the demands that the DEM Party has shared with the public through various channels. No list of demands has been presented to President Erdoğan.

It is not correct to list the agendas and topics that have been discussed by the public for months and spread them as a 'List of Demands' presented by our delegation."
