Fraud in olive oil, scandal in meat products! The 18 provinces with no food adulteration have been identified

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regularly publishes its "Adulterated and Misbranded Foods" and "Foods Endangering Health" lists following inspections conducted across Turkey.

As a result of the inspections, fraudulent foods were detected in 63 provinces, and 90 companies were placed on the "red list" for selling products harmful to health.

According to a report by Türkiye Gazetesi, nearly a thousand companies that deceived consumers through imitation and adulteration were placed on the "orange list".

WHICH PRODUCTS ARE MOST FREQUENTLY ADULTERATED?

Staple consumer products stood out among the fraudulent foods. Here are the most frequently adulterated food products:

Olive oil: Fake olive oil was produced by adding seed oil.

Meat and meat products: Horse and donkey meat were sold as beef, and chicken meat was mixed into some products.

Dairy products: The fat content in cheeses was reduced.

Spices: A natural appearance was achieved by adding food coloring.

Lahmacun and pastries: Non-standard mixtures were used in the fillings.

18 PROVINCES WITH NO FOOD ADULTERATION IDENTIFIED

During the inspections, it was determined that no companies in 18 provinces engaged in fraud.
