It has been claimed that the AKP, which has carried out numerous transfers of mayors as well as members of parliament following the 2024 local elections, will conduct further parliamentary transfers in the first days of the new year.
The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31, 2024 Local Elections, has transferred numerous mayors since that date.
The most talked-about name among these transfers was CHP's Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu.
The AKP has transferred a total of 66 mayors since the local elections.
During this process, parliamentary accessions also took place. Since the 2023 elections, 11 members of parliament have joined the ranks of the AKP.
It has been suggested that accessions to the AKP will continue in 2026.
According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye, it is claimed that some members of parliament currently in opposition parties will resign and join the AKP.
It has been alleged that the AKP is in talks with independent members of parliament as well as those in the opposition.
