CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that AKP lawyer Mücahit Birinci took a 1.5-page statement to businessman Murat Kapki, who is detained in investigations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and demanded 2 million dollars in exchange for the statement.

According to Özel's allegations, Birinci presented an offer to Kapki saying, "You will sign this, you will pay 2 million dollars on top of it, and you will walk out of here easily."

RESPONSE TO KAPKİ'S REFUSAL: "THINK LIKE A MACHIAVELLIAN"

It is alleged that after Kapki refused to sign this statement, Birinci made a statement saying, "Think like a Machiavellian; if you see that the CHP is doing well, you can just say that you said these things in order to get out."
