He revealed the truth behind Bahçeli's call to speed up trials: Those results were placed on his desk!

Turkey has been shaken for some time by early election debates and operations targeting the CHP. Following the arrest of presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu on March 23, the CHP launched "Defending the National Will" rallies. In these rallies, it is demanded that İmamoğlu be tried without arrest and that an early election be held immediately.

In addition to the CHP, pressure continues on the government for the indictment of the İmamoğlu case to be prepared as soon as possible and for the trial to be conducted in a way that reaches millions via TRT broadcasts. This demand was also voiced in recent weeks by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli. President Erdoğan did not close the doors on this issue either.

BAHÇELİ'S CALL FOR "JUDICIARY TO SPEED UP"

Bahçeli did not only support the request for TRT broadcasts; he also made open calls for the cases to be heard quickly and for Turkey to be rid of these files. In his latest statement, he emphasized that trials should be accelerated after the judicial recess.

Journalist Ertuğrul Özkök claimed that the Panorama research conducted in July was behind these remarks by Bahçeli. According to Özkök, three important dramatic changes in public opinion were detected in the survey:

The rate of those who answered "justice" to the question "What is Turkey's most important problem after the economy?" rose from 17.9% in June to 24.1% in July.

Trust in the Minister of Justice fell from 26% in June to 23% in July.

The rate of those saying "the economy is getting worse" rose from 74.2% to 76.3%.

SUPPORT FOR BAHÇELİ'S REMARKS IS RISING

It was also observed in the survey that support for the remarks Bahçeli made in his own name has increased.

Support for Bahçeli's idea that "the hearings of İmamoğlu and his friends should be broadcast on TRT" rose to 77%. The rate of those opposing it remained at 15%.

The rate of those who find the proposal to "establish a Parliamentary Commission for laying down arms" correct rose from 53.2% to 62.8%.

Ertuğrul Özkök stated that Bahçeli was aware of these results and therefore made his emphasis on justice specifically directed at the AKP.

Stating that the 9.6-point increase in the demand for justice within one month is remarkable, Özkök expressed that Bahçeli's message that "trials should be accelerated" has become an important part of his political strategy.
