Imamoglu's lawyer had been detained: The reason for Mehmet Pehlivan's detention has been revealed

Mehmet Pehlivan, the lawyer for CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, was detained at his home as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Lawyer Pehlivan has been accused of "money laundering." In line with the investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Money Laundering Investigation Bureau, a detention order was issued for Pehlivan under the charges of "laundering assets derived from crime" and within the framework of the "Law on Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime."

Following the detention procedures, Pehlivan was transferred to Bayrampaşa State Hospital for a health check.

After the completion of the procedures there, Pehlivan was taken to the Provincial Police Department.

Ekrem İmamoğlu made a statement on his social media account following the detention of his lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan.

İmamoğlu stated, "In the prohibitionist mindset, neither lies nor slanders ever end. This time, my lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan was detained on fabricated grounds. As if it were not enough that they staged a coup against democracy, they cannot even tolerate the victims of this coup defending themselves. They want to add a legal coup to the democratic coup. The evil that a handful of incompetent people are inflicting on our country is growing. Release my lawyer immediately."
