Is Akkuyu the US's next target in the region? 'Zionistan project' warning

Evaluating the US attack on the Fordow Uranium Enrichment Plant in Iran, Retired Rear Admiral Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cihat Yaycı emphasized that the operation was carried out not only by the US but also with British support.

Stating that the B-2 bombers involved in the attack took off from the Diego Garcia naval base, Yaycı noted that this base is actually a British base, housing 40 British and 4,000 American soldiers.

Speaking to Sözcü, Yaycı noted that the Fordow facility could not be hit with ordinary bombs and that GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs were used in the attack. "You cannot damage the facility with just one or two of these bombs. At least 5-6 must be used," said Yaycı, noting that striking this facility, which contains plutonium and is located at a depth of 80-90 meters, is extremely critical from a military perspective.

Stating that the attack serves as a lesson for the international community because it targeted a facility operating for peaceful purposes, Yaycı said, "Iran was saying, 'Come and inspect.' This was a facility open to inspection. Despite this, it was bombed. This situation shows how even peaceful efforts can become targets."

IS AKKUYU THE NEXT TARGET?

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yaycı said that the most serious warning following the attack came from Michael Rubin. Stating that in an article written five days ago, Rubin argued that the target after Iran should be Turkey, Yaycı said, "Rubin is directly pointing to the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant. This person is someone who has served as a director at the Pentagon, was an advisor to the coalition government in Iraq, gave advice to Barzani, and played a role in the restructuring in Syria."

Cihat Yaycı said that it would be wrong to address such developments only in the context of Iran, stating that a broader plan, which he calls the "Zionistan Project," is being implemented in the region.
