Speaking to reporters after the visit, Özel reacted sharply to the claims regarding a bag brought up by TRT and Anadolu Agency concerning İmamoğlu. Stating that the allegations were baseless, Özel explained that the device in the bag was a signal jammer.

Özgür Özel stated, "A jammer device is not used here to prevent illegal wiretapping, but to block the signals of bombs that terrorists might detonate. This device is the responsibility of the security detail, just like the jammer trucks that follow Tayyip Erdoğan." Özel emphasized that the purchase of the jammer was completely legal and used for public safety.

In his statement, Özel noted that jammer devices were purchased through official tenders and said, "On Monday, I will announce which municipalities have purchased jammers. I will declare the AKP-run municipalities one by one. I will also disclose which ministries and governorships have made jammer purchases." Özel stated that the CHP and the İBB made the jammer purchase from their own budgets, but that this process was a completely legal transaction.
