In the tragic fire that broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya district of Bolu, one of Turkey's popular ski resorts, 78 people lost their lives.

While it was stated that the hotel was 80-90 percent full due to the semester break, the fact that fire crews reached the scene in approximately 45 minutes was criticized.
