Kılıçdaroğlu throws down the gauntlet to CHP: Breaks silence to pro-government media following viral video

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who had remained silent during operations targeting CHP municipalities and the trustee case, broke his silence with a video shared on his social media account following the CHP's decision not to visit İmralı.

Kılıçdaroğlu, who argued that the CHP should visit İmralı, had also called for the party to "cleanse itself" regarding allegations of corruption and bribery.

Kılıçdaroğlu, who broke his months-long silence after the CHP's İmralı decision, responded to the reactions directed at him.

"CHP CANNOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH BRIBES AND CORRUPTION"

Speaking to Tuba Kalçık from the pro-government Sabah newspaper, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "The Republican People's Party cannot be associated with bribes, corruption, and the contractors of the bribery cycle; it cannot come together with them. It cannot move forward under the weight of slander and corruption allegations; it must cleanse itself immediately and continue on its path."

"I THROW DOWN THE GAUNTLET!"

Describing the criticism against him on social media as an organized attack, Kılıçdaroğlu continued:

"Let them come out and explain to the nation which part of what I said is wrong. I throw down the gauntlet! I will not take a step back because of fake accounts and organized lynching attempts. I told the truth; if they have an objection, let them come out with their real identities and say it."

"ANYONE INVOLVED IN CORRUPTION MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE"

Stating that everyone, including the government's own municipalities and bureaucrats, must be held accountable in the fight against corruption, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Anyone involved in corruption must be held accountable. This state must, regardless of rank or position, cut off the right arm or gouge out the left eye of anyone involved in corruption. The nation cannot recover otherwise. As I stated in the video, a politician is accountable to the people, they do not hold the people accountable."

REACTION TO THE İMRALI DECISION

Continuing his reaction to the CHP's decision regarding İmralı, Kılıçdaroğlu continued:

"The Republican People's Party must draw a roadmap regarding this issue and danger and explain it to our nation. The CHP should be the one setting the direction in the resolution of one of Turkey's most important problems. This process should be outside the material of daily politics."
