The murder of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi was a tragedy waiting to happen... Criminal records of those who took Ahmet's life revealed!

Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the 15-year-old son of famous Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, collided with an individual named B.B. while shopping at the historic Salı Pazarı in Kadıköy, Istanbul, on January 24, 2025.

During the ensuing argument, B.B. wounded Minguzzi in five places with a knife he was carrying, while his 16-year-old friend U.B. repeatedly kicked the boy as he lay bleeding on the ground.

Mattia Ahmet was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and lost his 14-day battle for life on February 7, 2025.

INDICTMENT ACCEPTED, DETENTION CONTINUES IN THE CASE

The Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office prepared an indictment against the two suspects for the crime of "intentional killing of a child," seeking prison sentences ranging from 18 to 24 years.

While the Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Juvenile High Criminal Court accepted the indictment, it was decided at the first hearing held on April 10 that the suspects would remain in custody. The hearing was adjourned to May 8.

CAUGHT WITH A CLEAVER

According to the report in the Sabah newspaper, the prime suspect in the murder, B.B., was caught with a meat cleaver during a stop-and-frisk search in Kadıköy just one month before the incident, on December 16, 2024. An investigation was launched against him for the crime of "unauthorized purchase, carrying, or possession of knives or other tools."

In his statement, B.B. claimed he was innocent, stating that his father was a pide master and that he had bought the cleaver to chop pide.

As a result of the criminal investigation, it was stated that the cleaver could not be evaluated within the scope of the "Law on Firearms and Knives and Other Tools." In line with this report, the prosecutor's office issued a decision of non-prosecution and sent a letter to the police for the return of the cleaver to B.B.

NON-PROSECUTION ISSUED AGAIN

It was revealed that an investigation was launched against the other suspect, U.B., on May 8, 2024, due to another act of violence. A 17-year-old youth named A.H. was taken to a park in Çekmeköy by U.B. and his friends, whom he had encountered on a bus along with E.K.S.

Allegedly, the group of four pulled a knife on the young boy, beat him, and then forced him to kiss their hands, recording these moments on video and publishing them on social media.

An investigation was launched upon A.H.'s complaint, but the prosecutor's office issued a decision of non-prosecution in the file on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence for the charge of "threat with a weapon."
