Yellow code warning from Meteorology: Heavy rain and storms expected in 8 provinces

The General Directorate of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for 8 provinces. According to the statement, while partly to very cloudy weather is expected across the country, local heavy downpours and thunderstorms will be effective in the Aegean, Western Mediterranean, and the western parts of Southeastern Anatolia.

PROVINCES UNDER YELLOW ALERT

The provinces issued a yellow alert are as follows:

Antalya, Burdur, Isparta, Manisa, Aydın, Denizli, İzmir, and Muğla.

Citizens living in these provinces are urged to be cautious against negative conditions such as flash floods, lightning, and disruptions in transportation.

WINDS TO BLOW AT STORM FORCE

Winds are expected to blow strongly (40-70 km/h) from southerly directions in the Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, and the western parts of Eastern Anatolia, occasionally reaching storm force. There are risks such as roof damage and tree falls, especially in open areas.

DUST TRANSPORT EXPECTED

It is stated that dust transport may be observed in the Mediterranean and the western regions of Southeastern Anatolia. This situation may cause a decrease in visibility and a reduction in air quality.

AIR TEMPERATURES TO RISE

According to meteorological data, air temperatures in the northern and eastern parts will increase by 3 to 5 degrees. No significant change in temperatures is expected in other regions.

HEAVY RAIN WARNING

It has been reported that local heavy rainfall is expected in the Aegean, Western Mediterranean, the west of Southeastern Anatolia, as well as the south of Eskişehir, the western districts of Balıkesir, and the surroundings of Kahramanmaraş and Elazığ. Therefore, it is necessary to be prepared for negative conditions such as flash floods, inundation, and lightning.
