Ministry shares new list: Fraud uncovered in butter, olive oil, and kashar cheese

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced its new list of imitation and adulterated products following inspections conducted against food products that endanger consumer health.

The number of products harmful to health has risen to 189. The number of products confirmed to be imitation or adulterated has reached 963.

MANY STAPLE FOOD PRODUCTS ARE INCLUDED

These products include many staple food items such as butter, olive oil, kashar cheese, and flavored beverages. As a result of the inspections, it was revealed that poultry meat and offal were used in some pita fillings.

DETECTED IN CHEESE, KASHAR, AND PITA

In the list announced by the Ministry, it was determined that fraud was also committed in kashar cheese. Examinations revealed that some kashar cheeses had low fat content and did not meet standards.

It was determined that vegetable oil was mixed into some butter. In olive oil, it was found that adulteration was carried out by using different types of oil.

The brands found to have imitation and adulterated products are as follows:

"Sütlüce full-fat kashar cheese, Paysüt fresh cheese, Bideci Tugay pita filling, Kılınç full-fat fresh kashar cheese, Ufukbey full-fat kashar cheese, Yeşilay low-fat white cheese, Ufuk bey full-fat fresh kashar cheese"
