Narin murder: Who was threatened at the Güran family meeting? Transcript of Kurdish conversations revealed...
Footage of a meeting of the Güran family regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was strangled to death in Diyarbakır, has been added to the case file. It has been revealed who was questioned and subsequently expelled from the meeting in the footage. Meanwhile, the Kurdish conversations in the footage have also been transcribed.
A new development has occurred in the investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, who was reported missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's Bağlar district, and whose lifeless body was found in a creek bed 19 days later.
Footage of a meeting held by members of the Güran family has been added to the case file, which is being closely followed by Turkey. The footage in question had been brought up during hearings, but family members had given contradictory statements regarding the meeting.
It is seen that some family members held a meeting in the garden of uncle Erhan Güran's house one day before Narin Güran's body was found. The footage, which includes conversations in both Turkish and Kurdish, will also be deciphered by experts.
THEY ROUGHED UP A CHILD
In the footage, it is seen that a child around 15 years old is being interrogated by family members, and is later forcibly removed from the meeting. In the Kurdish conversations, it is stated that they are trying to get the child to admit something and are promising him protection.
According to NTV, it was learned that in the Kurdish conversations, the child was threatened by being told, "If you stay silent, we will protect you. If they ask, you will say you don't know, you didn't see anything." According to the conversations, there are also some questions directed at the detained Enes Güran.
THE FATHER IS ALSO AT THE MEETING
On the other hand, it was seen that Narin's father, Arif Güran, was at the meeting. From the footage, Narin's other uncle, brother, and cousins are all seen together interrogating a young child.
The child whom the Narin family gathered around to give certain suggestions and warnings to is most likely Ramazan Atasoy, who is among the detained suspects.
WHAT DID RAMAZAN ATASOY SAY IN HIS STATEMENT?
Ramazan Atasoy had provided important information regarding Salim Güran, who is accused of strangling Narin, in his statement to law enforcement. Atasoy spoke as follows in his initial statements, and the information was reflected in the records:
“As a result of the investigation conducted regarding the individual named Narin Güran, who was found dead in Eğertutmaz Creek on September 8, the individual named Ramazan Atasoy, who was identified as a suspect, was arrested by the judicial authorities to which he was referred on 13.09.2024. Subsequently, it was reported that the referral signature for the arrest warrant would be made by Public Prosecutor Ahmet Kuşak to the District Gendarmerie Command for his transfer to the Penal Execution Institution. For this reason, the individual was brought to the Bağlar District Gendarmerie Command service building by public order teams. While waiting for the public prosecutor, the aforementioned suspect was taken to the waiting room.”
RAMAZAN ATASOY POSSESSES IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In the report prepared by the Gendarmerie on September 14, it was stated that Ramazan Atasoy experienced a momentary outburst of anger due to the shock of being arrested and cried, saying, “Mukhtar Salim, f*** you. Because of you, we got into trouble. Commander, when the mukhtar came to me in the afternoon, he wasn't wearing the clothes he worked in the field in. He had clean clothes on. Both of his feet were wet as if he had stepped into water up to his ankles.”
Atasoy was initially arrested as part of the investigation and released on September 12. However, he was detained again on September 14 and subsequently arrested.
ATASOY IS THE UNCLE'S WORKER AND IS AFRAID
Ramazan Atasoy, the 15-year-old worker of the detained suspect uncle Salim Güran, did not testify at the hearing. When Atasoy came to the witness stand accompanied by gendarmes, the judge asked him if he wanted to testify. Atasoy said, “I do not want to be a witness.”
When he did not want to be a witness, the gendarmes took Atasoy back to the prison where he was being held. The Presiding Judge also reminded the lawyers that Atasoy had the right not to testify due to some additional investigations against him.
Atasoy's name first came to the agenda due to his messages with the suspect Uncle Salim Güran.
Records entered the file showing that Salim Güran directed his worker by sending a message to Atasoy saying, "Something of yours fell in that corner at the end, something belonging to you on the slope at the end," and Ramazan Atasoy replied, "Okay, it's not with me yet/okay, it hasn't died yet." The suspects denied this, claiming that this message in Kurdish was mistranslated.
Atasoy is one of the people who saw Salim Güran with his father on the day of the murder. Atasoy explained that Salim Güran came to them while they were working in the garden, stopped, and left after a while, but the information he provided was found to be contradictory.
