New details emerge regarding the police station attacker: Here are the scandalous posts

In an incident that occurred yesterday morning in the Balçova district of İzmir, an armed attack was carried out on the Salih İşgören Police Station. The 16-year-old attacker, identified as E.B., who waited for a while in the park area across from the station wearing a ski mask and carrying a backpack, opened fire on the police officers in the guard booth.

TWO POLICE OFFICERS MARTYRED, SIX INJURED

As a result of the gunfire, First Class Police Chief Muhsin Aydemir, who resided in the living quarters on the upper floor of the police station, heard the gunshots, went downstairs, and engaged in the firefight.

Aydemir, who was martyred during the clash, was the first target of the attack. In the incident, police officer Ömer Amilağ was also seriously wounded in the neck, and police officer Murat Dağlı was shot in the leg. In total, two police officers were martyred and six people were injured.

ATTACKER CAPTURED WOUNDED

The attacker was captured wounded as a result of the police returning fire and was taken to Alsancak State Hospital. İzmir Governor Süleyman Elban stated in his announcement that the attacker was a high school junior and had no prior criminal record.

WEAPON BELONGED TO HIS FATHER

Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that the weapon used in the attack belonged to the attacker's father, N.B. The mother, A.B., and the father, N.B., were taken into custody. It was announced that the incident is being investigated from multiple angles.

The posts that emerged on the attacker's father's Facebook account drew attention. It was observed that N.B. used anti-Republic and anti-Atatürk expressions and shared content hostile to Atatürk. It was also understood that he hunted "starling" birds and shared photos of his son holding the dead birds, and that he had been warned repeatedly in the comments.

It was also determined that the father had shared photos of his son posing with toy guns in his hands.
