Striking details have emerged in the investigation into the robbery at the evidence office located in the Büyükçekmece Courthouse. While an arrest warrant has been issued for courthouse clerk Erdal Timurtaş, who was identified as the perpetrator of the theft, it has been determined that the incident was not a solo act, but was pre-planned and managed by an organized structure.

According to information provided by journalist Mustafa Kadir Mercan, simultaneous operations were conducted at 50 separate addresses as part of the investigation carried out by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was learned that the number of detainees rose to 16 as a result of the operations.

“THEY USED ME” MESSAGE IN THE FILE

According to information entered into the investigation file, a message sent by Erdal Timurtaş, who was identified as having removed the gold and silver from the courthouse alone, to a friend has surfaced. In his message, Timurtaş reportedly stated, “I am not guilty, they used me. They didn't even give me any money. They threatened my family. I can benefit from effective remorse.”

ALLEGATION OF ARMED WAIT OUTSIDE THE COURTHOUSE

According to allegations, it was determined that while Timurtaş was removing the gold from the courthouse, an armed individual was kept waiting outside the courthouse to open fire on security guards in the event of a possible intervention. This detail revealed how organized the robbery was planned.

CONFESSING SUSPECT CHANGED THE DIRECTION OF THE INVESTIGATION

According to information in the file, one of the detained suspects became a confessor, stating that they wanted to benefit from the provisions of effective remorse. It was learned that the statements given by the suspect significantly affected the course of the investigation.

GOLD WAS SMELTED, ATTEMPTS MADE TO LAUNDER MONEY

In the examinations conducted, it was determined that a portion of the gold and silver seized in the robbery was smelted at jewelers and converted into cash. It was determined that a gallery company was established to launder the money obtained, and vehicle purchases were made through this company. While the suspects who established the gallery company were arrested, all vehicles within the company were seized.

INSTIGATORS ARE FUGITIVES

The robbery, which initially gave the impression of being carried out by a single person, was revealed to have been planned by an organized team in the background. It was determined that M.S., who is alleged to be the leader of the suspects, is known as M.C. in Istanbul and its surroundings and was waiting in a vehicle during the robbery. It was reported that M.S. is a fugitive along with his cousin M.E.

Meanwhile, it was learned that M.S.'s girlfriend E.D. was arrested for the crime of “money laundering,” and another suspect, M.S., who was determined to be waiting in the other vehicle, was also sent to prison.

CAR RENTAL COMPANY ALSO IN THE FILE

Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that the car rental company from which the vehicles used in the robbery were obtained was also involved in the incident. It was noted that company owner B.Ç. and real estate agent G.V., who was determined to have received the money for laundering, were among those arrested.

THEY PLANNED TO PIN THE ENTIRE CRIME ON TİMURTAŞ

According to the findings in the file, it was determined that the suspects held meetings after the robbery, acted comfortably thinking the incident would not be uncovered, and made plans to pin all responsibility on Erdal Timurtaş. It was reported that the assets of all suspects have been frozen within the scope of the investigation, and the file is being handled in a multi-faceted and meticulous manner.
