Number of transfers rises to 3: Another surprise MP to join the AKP today! Erdoğan will pin their badges...
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will speak at his party's parliamentary group meeting today. In addition to Mersin MP Hasan Ufuk Çakır, who resigned from the CHP, and İrfan Karatutlu, who resigned from the DEVA Party, one more MP will join the ranks of the AKP at the meeting. President Erdoğan is expected to pin the badges of the 3 MPs.
The AKP, which has transferred numerous MPs and mayors from the opposition front since the general and local elections, will see new additions today.
CHP Mersin MP Hasan Ufuk Çakır had announced that he would resign from his party and join the AKP.
In addition to Çakır, Kahramanmaraş MP İrfan Karatutlu, who resigned from the DEVA Party, will also join the ranks of the AKP.
According to the report in Sözcü, one more MP will join the AKP alongside Çakır and Karatutlu.
Istanbul MP İsa Mesih Şahin, who resigned from the Future Party (Gelecek Partisi), is also transferring to the AKP.
It was alleged that Şahin met with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace. It was learned that the accession process was finalized during this meeting.
All 3 MPs were elected to parliament from the CHP lists in the general elections on May 14.
WHICH MPS HAVE JOINED THE AKP?
The AKP had previously transferred 10 MPs from the IYI Party, the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi), and the Future Party.
