Özgür Özel had pointed it out: Look who turned out to be the owner of the bank that received an operating license!

The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) has granted a digital banking operating license to Adil Katılım Bankası.

The decision, published in the Official Gazette dated September 20, 2025, was taken within the framework of new regulations regarding banking. Adil Katılım Bankası had received its establishment permit on May 27, 2025. This step was evaluated as an indicator of the increasing number of digital banks in Turkey.

"WHO IS THE OWNER?" POST FROM CHP'S SUİÇMEZ

CHP Trabzon Deputy Sibel Suiçmez made a noteworthy post on social media regarding the operating license granted to Adil Katılım Bankası.

Suiçmez asked, "The BDDK has granted an operating license to Adil Katılım Bankası. Who is the owner?" She also made a statement regarding the share of participation banking in the banking sector: "The share of Participation Banking within Turkish banking assets is currently at the 8% level. The government has made it a goal to move this to 15% in the short term..." she wrote.

Journalist İsmail Saymaz responded to this question from Suiçmez and revealed who the owner of Adil Katılım Bankası is.

Saymaz announced that the boss of the bank is Mustafa Yazıcı, the son of AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı. Saymaz stated, "An operating license for digital banking has been granted by the BDDK to Adil Katılım Bankası, which belongs to Mustafa Yazıcı, the son of AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı."

Discussions regarding the owner of Adil Katılım Bankası had come to the agenda even more following the statements made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in recent days.

Özel had pointed to AKP's Hayati Yazıcı regarding his party losing its council majority in the Bayrampaşa Municipality. Özel had used the expression, "Where is Hayati Yazıcı in these matters?" Targeting Hayati Yazıcı, Özgür Özel had asked, "Where are you in such a stomach-churning process?" Following these statements, the allegations regarding the owner of Adil Katılım Bankası had come back to the agenda.
