CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced on Tuesday, January 28, at his party's group meeting that they have initiated the process to determine their presidential candidate.

In this context, the party has begun preparations for a primary election.

However, it has been suggested that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş will not be involved in this process.

YAVAŞ WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE PRIMARY

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi claimed in his column today that Yavaş will announce in a press conference he is holding next week that he will not participate in the primary election.

It is stated that instead of a primary election where only CHP members vote, Yavaş will propose that a broad-scale poll be conducted in which the public can also participate.
