The PKK has disbanded, but what will happen to the weapons? The mystery of arms in the process!

The new resolution process has taken center stage on Turkey's agenda. The process began with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli shaking hands with DEM Party deputies at the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, and then gained momentum with the "lay down your arms, dissolve" call made by terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan on February 27.

Following these developments, it was revealed on April 10 that Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan, who were part of the DEM Party's Imralı Delegation, met with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace. This meeting was interpreted as a significant sign that the process had now "de facto" begun.

HE HAD SAID "YOU MAY RECEIVE GOOD NEWS AT ANY MOMENT"

While transparency debates continue regarding the new process, which is being marketed to the public with the slogan "A Turkey Without Terrorism," the terrorist organization PKK declared that it had dissolved itself following a so-called congress held between May 5-7. In the statement it released, the organization also officially announced its decision to lay down its arms.

Shortly before this announcement, President Erdoğan had said regarding the so-called congress, "You may receive good news at any moment."

HOW WILL THE WEAPONS BE SURRENDERED?

According to behind-the-scenes information reported by Korkusuz newspaper columnist Can Coşkun, the process of laying down arms contains critical details. According to the information obtained by Coşkun:

There will be no foreign or neutral oversight committee, defined as a "third eye," in the disarmament process.

The planning of the process will be carried out directly by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT). The involvement of international institutions such as the United Nations is not on the agenda.

The weapons will not be buried as they were in the previous resolution process. Instead, they will be surrendered one-on-one in PKK camps in Iraq through a mechanism coordinated by MİT, which will also include a representative from the Iraqi government.

Following the surrender of the weapons and the dispersal of the organization's personnel, all areas where the organization previously operated will be re-inspected by security forces.
