Praise from 'kittens' at Adnan Oktar's court hearing: 'Teacher, your outfit is very nice'
Adnan Oktar was brought from prison to the courtroom for the 'current structure' case. In court, compliments were paid to Oktar, such as, "Teacher, your outfit is very nice." While Oktar was praised by his lawyers and the defendants, defenses were made regarding the activities of the criminal organization.
The 'current structure' trial regarding the Adnan Oktar armed criminal organization's activities to recruit new members through lawyers and social media groups is being heard at the Istanbul 1st High Criminal Court.
Oktar, who was brought from the Van High-Security Penal Institution where he is detained, and the defendants who are being tried without arrest were present in the courtroom.
The court had previously ruled for the release of the detained defendants Meltem Daban, Ferhunde Eda Babuna, Elvan Şahin, Aslı Efeoğlu, and Mine Kalça, excluding Adnan Oktar, with a judicial control measure in the form of a travel ban.
FROM LAWYERS AND DEFENDANTS TO OKTAR: MASHA'ALLAH, YOU ARE PERFECT
According to the report by Furkan Karabay from Gazete Duvar, individuals known as "kittens" who were in the courtroom called out to Oktar. Oktar responded to those calling out to him by smiling and saying, "you are very beautiful." It was observed that Oktar's hair and beard were dyed.
The defendants who are being tried without arrest called out to Oktar, saying, "Masha'allah, you are very beautiful, magnificent, you are perfect." While the court panel had left the courtroom to evaluate requests, it was heard that Oktar's lawyers said, "Teacher, your outfit is very nice, your choice of clothes is very good, masha'allah."
HE CLAIMED THEY WERE 'BEING TRIED BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE IN ALLAH'
Making a defense against the opinion, Pelin Akçalı stated that they were not guilty according to the decisions of the Court of Cassation. Akçalı argued that the reason for their trial was "believing in Allah." Stating, "The one who gives the decision is Allah, the judge of judges is Allah," Akçalı demanded the acquittal of Oktar and the defendants being tried without arrest.
The hearing was adjourned.
HE HAD CLAIMED TO HAVE VISITED ERDOĞAN AND HIS MINISTERS
In his previous defenses, Adnan Oktar had claimed that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, ministers, and MIT members had visited their homes in the past.
At the hearing on May 22, Oktar had alleged that Erdoğan, AK Party ministers, and MIT members had come to their homes in the past.
Oktar continued by claiming that the "British deep state" had intervened, contacted Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, and that an operation was carried out against them.
THEY MET WITH A PRESIDENTIAL ADVISOR AND PROSECUTORS
In the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror and Organized Crime Bureau last February regarding the current structure of the Adnan Oktar Community Armed Criminal Organization, the current structure of the criminal organization was focused on in the file where Oktar is the leader and Meltem Daban and Ferhunde Eda Babuna are the managers.
In the 352-page indictment, which includes 20 suspects including Oktar, Daban, and Eda Babuna, it was stated that the organization acted under the instructions of Adnan Oktar under the name of the "legal group."
It was stated that the instructions in the notes written by Oktar were conveyed to the organization members outside through lawyers. It was stated that Meltem Daban, Eda Babuna, and a person codenamed Feraye collected the handwritten instructions sent by Oktar through his lawyers.
An organization member who benefited from effective remorse and shared the messaging within the organization with the prosecutor's office pointed out in their statement given in July 2022 that the Oktarists had sources in the courthouses.
In the statements included in the indictment, it was claimed that organization members held "close and intense" meetings with the Public Prosecutor responsible for the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office judicial deposit warehouses.
Evaluating the connections of the Oktarists in the judiciary and bureaucracy, the prosecutor's office pointed out that the content of the seized note titled "businessman-Ankara" included meetings with bureaucrats and political lobbying activities.
It was stated that it was understood from the 7th page of the note in question that the Oktarists held bureaucratic meetings with a Presidential Advisor.
In the indictment, it is requested that the other 17 defendants be sentenced to prison for various periods for crimes such as "being a member of an organization established to commit crimes," "aiding the organization," and "making propaganda for the organization or its purpose."
