Remarkable shift in party vote distribution following the 'solution process' call!

The latest poll on terrorism and the 'opening' process by the Institute for Social Studies (Toplum Çalışmaları Enstitüsü) has revealed striking results. The survey was conducted on October 24, following the highly debated statements by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

The significant loss of votes for the MHP and CHP is noteworthy.

The vote share of the MHP, the party of Bahçeli who lit the fuse for the 'opening,' has fallen to 7.5 percent when undecided voters are distributed. In the research conducted by the Institute for Social Studies last month, the MHP's vote share was 11.7 percent. This 4.2-point decline indicates that the MHP has lost more than one-third of its voters.

VOTERS TURNED THEIR BACKS ON THE CHP

A similar erosion is also seen in the Republican People's Party (CHP). The CHP's vote share, when undecided voters are distributed, is 26.9 percent. There is a 5.8-point erosion in the Republican People's Party, which was the leading party with 32.7 percent in the Institute's September research. This 5.8-point decline means that the CHP has lost 17.8 percent of its voters from last month.

The public was also asked for their views on the agenda-setting statements made by the MHP Chairman and the CHP Chairman. 73.5 percent of the public opposes Devlet Bahçeli's remarks, which included a proposal for Öcalan to speak in parliament. The rate of those supporting Bahçeli's words remains at 18.2 percent.

While the rate of those supporting Özgür Özel's remarks, which included a "promise to the Kurds," remains at 19.5 percent, the rate of those opposing them is 73.2 percent. It is observed that support for the two chairmen from their own voters is also very low. While 67.1 percent of MHP voters oppose Bahçeli's move, 70.3 percent of CHP voters oppose Özgür Özel's statement.

The AKP's vote share, when undecided voters are distributed, is 32.1 percent. The ruling party, which was second with a 28.9 percent vote share in the research conducted by the Institute for Social Studies last month, has reclaimed the top spot from the CHP as a result of a 3.2-point increase and the 5.8-point decline in the CHP.

VICTORY PARTY (ZAFER PARTİSİ) CROSSED THE THRESHOLD

It is understood that the AKP is also shifting the political price to be paid on behalf of the government onto the MHP. The erosive effect of this burden on the MHP and the position taken by the CHP have increased interest in the two opposition nationalist parties.

In the Institute's research last month, the Victory Party (Zafer Partisi), which was at 4.7 percent when undecided voters were distributed, has risen to 8.4 percent, hovering above the national electoral threshold.
