Rezan Epözdemir case turns into a crisis within the government: Şamil Tayyar points to that name in the Palace!

The investigation launched into lawyer Rezan Epözdemir, who was detained at dawn on Sunday, August 10, has exposed the cliques within the government one by one. It has been alleged that numerous 'influential' figures, including Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum, have pressured Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek, who initiated the investigation.

The person who brought this claim to light was former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar. Addressing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Tayyar said, "Do not leave the Chief Prosecutor alone."

Rezan Epözdemir, who serves as the lawyer for many famous names, was detained yesterday morning under the instructions of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Searches were conducted at his home and workplace, and digital materials were seized. It was shared that Epözdemir, whose passport has been restricted due to four separate charges, was detained on accusations of bribery, political-military espionage, and 'aiding FETÖ'.

ŞAMİL TAYYAR POINTS TO THE PALACE

The investigation into a bribery network, which also involves some prosecutors, has once again pitted cliques within the government against each other. Stating that Epözdemir's interrogation is about to turn into a serious crisis, Şamil Tayyar mentioned that Mehmet Uçum is also involved in the matter.

Making a statement on his social media account, Tayyar stated that the detention period was extended because Epözdemir did not provide his phone password, saying, "Numerous 'influential' names, primarily Mehmet Uçum, are active and have besieged Chief Prosecutor Akın Gürlek. Gürlek is overwhelmed by the intense pressure, which he did not even see in the İmamoğlu file, and is worried about a smear campaign being launched against him."

Stating that the figures alleged to be pressuring the investigation want Epözdemir to be released, Tayyar said, "Those involved are opposing the provision of the mobile phone password and want the investigation to be completed with the existing evidence and for him to be released. But why? Who, primarily Uçum, is bothered by the possibility of the suspect's mobile phone being opened, and why?"

Addressing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the subject, AKP member Şamil Tayyar used the expression, "Do not leave the Chief Prosecutor alone."
