A non-prosecution decision has been issued regarding the previous incidents involving the defendants on trial for the murder of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was stabbed to death in Kadıköy, Istanbul.

It was determined that the defendants B.B. and U.B., who stabbed and killed Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, the son of Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, in Kadıköy on January 24 at approximately 08:25, had been involved in other incidents prior to the trial process.

B.B., who stabbed Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, was caught by police with a cleaver in his possession during a search in Kadıköy on December 6, one month before the incident. CLEAVER EXAMINED

Within the scope of the investigation, a criminal examination of the cleaver resulted in a report stating that it did not fall under the 'Law on Firearms, Knives, and Other Instruments.' Following this report, the prosecutor's office issued a decision of non-prosecution, stating that no criminal element was found.

In a separate incident, E.K.S., who was part of the group that included U.B.—the individual who kicked Minguzzi at the scene—approached a victim he encountered on a bus on May 5, 2024, and took him to a park in Çekmeköy under the pretext of wanting to talk. They posted footage on social media of them pulling a knife, beating the victim, and forcing him to kiss their hands. In the investigation launched following the victim's complaint, a decision of non-prosecution was issued, noting that there was insufficient evidence to prove they had committed the crime of 'armed threat' as charged.
