Screenshots of messages sent by Özgür Özel to Mesut Özarslan revealed! He will file a criminal complaint

Keçiören Mayor Mesut Özarslan, who is alleged to be joining the AKP, announced yesterday that he has ended his CHP membership.

Özarslan claimed that he held a meeting with the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, on January 6, and that following this contact, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel sent him messages via WhatsApp on February 7 containing profanity directed at him and his family. Özarslan alleged that Özel used threats and insults in the messages in question.

Stating that he would apply to the prosecutor's office regarding the incident, it was reported that Özarslan is expected to file a criminal complaint today at 12:00.

Özgür Özel, in his statement to journalists regarding the matter, said, "I did not involve his parents, but there is both anger and insult in politics."

Calling on Özarslan to share the screenshots of the messages to prove his claims, Özel defended himself with the following words:

"He is lying. They called you a thief, I called you and asked. You said, 'There is no such thing, I have no corruption or theft, they are slandering me.' I believed you, and now I said, 'You are going to those who call you a thief.' I said, 'What you are doing will shame the mother who gave birth to you, your children, and your future grandchildren.' I said, 'If I ever get my hands on something, we will see, I will never forgive you'."

Following these statements, the messages allegedly sent by Özel to Özarslan were shared by some accounts on social media.

Sinan Burhan, Chairman of the Turkey Press Federation and Editor-in-Chief of Millet News Agency, also shared the profane parts of the messages in question with the public.
