Shocking detail in Bolu hotel fire: Report issued 19 days before the blaze
A striking development has emerged following the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, which resulted in the loss of 76 lives. As part of the investigation into the fire, a report dated January 2, 2025, from the Bolu Municipality Fire Department has come to light. It was learned that the report granted a "fire safety certificate" to the hotel's restaurant.

REPORT FROM JANUARY 2 HAS EMERGED
The following statements were included in the fire department's report dated January 2, 2025, as reported by TRT Haber:
"The inspection of your 70m2 indoor 'Cafe restaurant' business, which you intend to open at the Kartalkaya location in Bolu, has been completed by our department's personnel regarding fire safety; it has been determined that there is 1 unit of 6 kg dry chemical fire extinguisher available in the workplace, a residual current device is present, emergency lighting is available in the workplace, no LPG-type flammable or explosive materials should be kept inside the workplace, and caution must be exercised in the use of materials and heat sources that could cause a fire."
"COMPLIES WITH THE REGULATION ON FIRE PROTECTION OF BUILDINGS"
In the report, the Bolu Municipality Fire Department granted compliance with the "Regulation on the Fire Protection of Buildings."
The following statements were included in the report obtained:
"Article 124, titled 'Fire Safety Responsibility' under Part 9, Section 1 of the 'Regulation on the Fire Protection of Buildings' published in the Official Gazette dated 09.07.2015 and numbered 29411, states that 'In structures, buildings, facilities, and businesses, the highest-ranking official in public and private institutions and organizations, and the owners or managers in other buildings, facilities, and businesses are responsible for fire safety.' Article 125 contains the provisions for 'Determination of the fire safety officer'."
