Statement from the Kılıçdaroğlu camp regarding the party congress lawsuit! Will he attend as a 'victim'?

The cancellation lawsuit filed following allegations of irregularities regarding the Republican People's Party (CHP) 38th Ordinary Congress, held on November 4-5, 2023, where Özgür Özel won against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, remains on the agenda.

The lawsuit in question was filed by former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, who was expelled from the CHP, and delegates Yılmaz Özkanat, Hatip Karaaslan, and Kamile Bahar Önal. These individuals had requested the cancellation of the congress and the removal of the authorized boards from office.

The second hearing of the cancellation lawsuit was held at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance, and the court adjourned the case to June 30.

CHP leader Özgür Özel challenged the lawsuit filed for the cancellation of the congress, stating, "If a decision of invalidity or the appointment of a trustee is issued, I will not recognize it," and when asked about his "expectations regarding Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu," he called out by saying, "The responsibility imposed on us by having served as chairman in this party is not to meet the expectations of any of us, but to do what is right for the party."

With only days left until the hearing, there is curiosity about whether the 7th Chairman of the CHP, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, will attend the hearing in the capacity of a victim. Regarding the issue, Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer, Celal Çelik, stated, "Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is not a party to the hearing to be held on June 30. Could such a thing be possible? There is no possibility of the former chairman attending that case."

Speaking to Saygı Öztürk from Sözcü, Lawyer Çelik noted the following:

"Mr. Kemal came to the congress, made the opening, and then went home. Then he came for the voting. So, if money changed hands at the congress or something similar happened, is there a possibility he saw it? No. The former chairman says he did not see it. 

He is not saying anything on this matter. Despite this, Mr. Chairman Özgür Özel states that Kılıçdaroğlu said the congress was 'spotless.' There is no such statement from Kılıçdaroğlu, and these words have no basis in reality.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is not a party to the hearing to be held on June 30. Could such a thing be possible? There is no possibility of the former chairman attending that case. From the very beginning, Kılıçdaroğlu said, 'I will not be involved in either the investigation or the civil lawsuit regarding the congress.' Therefore, there is no possibility of Kılıçdaroğlu going to the hearing. He is not a party. He is not the one who filed the lawsuit."
