Statements by the husband of missing Ece Gürel cause confusion! 'She may have gotten scared and run away'

Ece Gürel has not been heard from since she left her home in Kağıthane's Gültepe neighborhood on Sunday afternoon and sent a message to a friend stating that she was going to the Belgrade Forest.

Following a report by her friend, numerous search and rescue teams, primarily AFAD and AKUT, launched a search and rescue operation in the Belgrade Forest yesterday for Gürel, who is understood to be a landscape architect.

Her family, who filed a missing person report with the police regarding Ece Gürel, also arrived in the area to follow the search efforts. Teams are continuing their search with cadaver dogs.

HER FINAL FOOTAGE HAS EMERGED

Security cameras recorded the moments when Ece Gürel, who went missing in the Belgrade Forest, left the building where she lived, walked on the sidewalk, went to the bus stop, and boarded an IETT bus.

The footage shows Gürel leaving her building, walking to the bus, traveling on the bus, and walking on the sidewalk after getting off.

HER BELONGINGS WERE FOUND

While teams were continuing their search with infrared drones, some items were detected in the inner parts of the forest. Upon this, crime scene investigation teams dispatched to the area found some personal belongings, including a mobile phone, a coat, and a bag.

The items, believed to belong to Gürel, were taken to the police station for examination. Teams have been directed to different points to expand the search area.

WHY DID SHE GO ALONE?

Architect Gürel's family appeared as guests on the Müge Anlı program. Her husband, Sezer Gürel, answered the questions directed at him on the program. Sezer Gürel responded to the question, "Why did your wife go there alone? What did she say when she left the house?" as follows:

"SHE IS NOT THE TYPE TO COMMIT SUICIDE"

It is true that things were a bit tense between us. Because of work. I also changed jobs. We were a bit estranged. She is not the type to commit suicide. We have walked there before. If she had told me she was going there, I would have said, 'Don't be ridiculous, what are you doing there?'

We argued during Suhoor; I said I wasn't eating and went to bed. I was reactive. We woke up in the morning. She said, 'I'm going out to get some air.' I said I didn't want to go because I was tired from coming off a shift.

I didn't know where she was going. She was doing sound meditation and things like that. Like sound arrangement. When there was too much noise in the house, I would tell her to close the door. She couldn't have gone to commit suicide. There are no cameras in the forest. This is a special place for her. She studied there for years. That is the reason she said 'I forgot' while getting off the bus. My thought is; my wife is currently missing. Maybe she left her belongings behind. She sat down to meditate, maybe something happened, she got scared and ran away.
