Striking claims from the brother of confessor Nevzat Bahtiyar in the Narin Güran murder case

The investigation into the murder of Narin Güran, who was reported missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district in Diyarbakır and whose lifeless body was found 19 days later, continues.

The first hearing of the brutal murder case, which has dominated Turkey's agenda, will be held on November 7 at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court.

While the killer of 8-year-old Narin has yet to be found, new footage and evidence regarding the murder continue to emerge.

DEMAND FOR AGGRAVATED LIFE IMPRISONMENT

In the indictment prepared by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against 4 of the 12 suspects detained as part of the investigation, it was stated that based on HTS and base station records, uncle Salim Güran—in whose vehicle DNA and hair samples belonging to Narin were found—mother Yüksel Güran, brother Enes Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to moving the body to the creek bed after being taken into custody, were all present in the same house at the time of the incident. An aggravated life sentence was requested for them on charges of 'intentional killing of a child in complicity'.

TEAMS COLLECTED EVIDENCE

Footage has emerged of the detailed examination conducted by gendarmerie criminal teams on the vehicle of Nevzat Bahtiyar, who stated in his testimony that he left Narin's lifeless body on the back seat floor of the car. The teams collected evidence from both the interior and the trunk of the vehicle during the examination.

The case file, in which 4 detained suspects will be tried with a request for aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in complicity," includes footage of the crime scene reconstruction conducted on September 9 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood and the Eğertutmaz Creek area, under the supervision of gendarmerie teams and the 3 prosecutors conducting the investigation.

SHOCKING CLAIMS FROM NEVZAT'S BROTHER!

V. Bahtiyar, the brother of Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to taking Narin's lifeless body to the creek, explained that Ali Rıza Güran, the uncle of Salim Güran, offered land and money to his brother, asking him to take the blame for the crime.

Speaking to A Haber, V. Bahtiyar stated the following:

“They wanted us to talk to Nevzat, promising that if he took the blame, they would give us land in the village. They said they would give money and help us get our houses back. We did not accept; we are not in need of such things. Even if they gave us 70 villages, we would never accept this. If a statement is requested regarding this incident, we will provide it to the prosecutor and the gendarmerie.”
