Striking comment from Fatih Altaylı on the photo of terrorist leader Öcalan! 'More than he deserves...'

In the new process that began with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli shaking hands with DEM Party deputies in October and his call regarding terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, the DEM Party Imralı Delegation held its third meeting with Öcalan yesterday (February 27).

The meeting was attended by DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları and Tuncer Bakırhan, DEM Party Van Deputy Pervin Buldan, Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder, and former Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Türk.

Following the meeting, the DEM Party Imralı Delegation shared the 'call to lay down arms' from PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan with the public.

A photo of terrorist leader Öcalan was also released while the call was being read. The photo also included Hamili Yıldırım, Ömer Hayri Konar, and Veysi Aktaş, who are imprisoned at Imralı Prison. This image was the first photo of Öcalan to emerge in years.

Journalist Fatih Altaylı evaluated the photo of terrorist leader Öcalan on his own YouTube channel. Stating that he found Öcalan in better condition than he had expected, Altaylı said, "The Republic of Turkey has taken better care of the leader of a terrorist organization that has made Turkey suffer for 40 years than he deserves."

Altaylı noted the following:

"I found him in better condition than I expected. Living in a prison for 25 years without seeing anyone, isolated from society and other people, would certainly cause both psychological and physiological wear and tear on a person. Therefore, I found him less worn out than I expected. I was expecting a worse, more collapsed Öcalan.

I can say that the state has taken good care of Öcalan there... For 26 years, the Republic of Turkey has taken extremely good care of the leader of a terrorist organization that has made Turkey suffer for 40 years. It has taken better care of him than he deserves. Perhaps it took good care of him for these days.

Yes, his head has shrunk a bit, his ears have grown a bit, his eyes have become smaller, which is normal. He has changed a bit, of course. I found him healthier than I expected, and because I found him healthy, I am also certain that the Republic of Turkey has actually taken better care of him than he deserves."
