Tense wait continues: Contradictory statements from Gürsel Tekin! Will he go to the provincial headquarters?

Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency, had announced that he would go to the party's provincial headquarters today, Monday, September 8, at 12:00 PM.

Following this announcement, CHP members decided to gather at the Istanbul Provincial Presidency, while the police closed the roads leading to the party building and issued a protest ban in 6 districts.

While the tense wait continues, it was noted that Gürsel Tekin decided not to go to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency today. Journalist Saygı Öztürk reported the development on a live broadcast on Sözcü TV, stating: "Today, after speaking with Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya and Istanbul Governor Davut Gül on the phone, he will ask the police to leave the front of the CHP building. I have learned that he himself will not go to that building today."

However, Gürsel Tekin denied the news in question. Speaking to Can Öztürk from T24, Tekin said:

"These reports are lies, they are all mischief; we will go to our father's house today. In fact, I will hold a press conference before going to the provincial presidency; this meeting will be near the building, but we will announce the location shortly."

"I called our Governor and our Interior Minister and told them as well. I stated that I would not enter a place where there is police presence in this manner. However, we will be at our provincial presidency, our father's house, today; we will make everyone burst with envy."

Former CHP deputy and journalist Barış Yarkadaş also shared his conversation with Tekin. Tekin told Yarkadaş the following:

"Our party's management and many of our deputies asked us to postpone today's event to Wednesday so that no shadow is cast over the events prepared for our party's anniversary and our party. These discussions have already been going on for a week. Upon the request of our headquarters, we will drink our tea and coffee with our brothers and sisters at the party on Wednesday, present a picture of unity and solidarity, and disappoint those who are waiting for a picture of conflict."
