Terrifying fire in Bolu: Houses burned, animals in barns could not be saved

The incident occurred during the night in the village of Çamyurdu in Bolu's Mudurnu district. The fire, the cause of which has not yet been determined, grew rapidly and spread to surrounding structures.

As a result of the flames, 2 houses and 10 barns were completely destroyed, while one house was severely damaged. Village resident Nihat Korol, one of the first to witness the fire, said, "The fire started an hour ago. A citizen passing by on the road saw it and reported it."

"THE ENTIRE VILLAGE WOULD HAVE BURNED DOWN"

Taşkesti Mayor Saim Çevik expressed the magnitude of the disaster with these words: "We received the news around 02:00. We notified all units. We also came to the village. Currently, 2 houses and 10 barns have completely burned down. Half of another house also burned. If the fire departments had not intervened, the entire village would have burned down."

TEAMS AND VILLAGERS FOUGHT TOGETHER

In addition to the Mudurnu Fire Department, teams from the Forestry Management Directorate, the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, AFAD, and medical teams, along with the villagers, intervened in the fire.

Intense efforts were made to prevent the flames from reaching other structures. Villagers carried water in buckets to support the fire trucks as their water supplies ran low.

Some citizens affected by the fire were treated in ambulances. The fire has been brought under control, and cooling efforts by the teams are ongoing.
