The decision by the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, to lay down arms and disband following his call has initiated a new process in the region. Developments regarding the organization's affiliates outside Turkey's borders have gained momentum. In this context, eyes have turned to the structures in Syria and Iran.

YPG REACHED AN AGREEMENT WITH DAMASCUS

The PYD/YPG/SDF, the Syrian branch of the PKK, has reached an 8-point agreement with the new government established in Damascus under the leadership of Ahmed Shara. According to the agreement, it is planned that the organization's militants will be integrated into the new Syrian army, which is set to be restructured.

Within the scope of the agreement, the administrative structures in the regions controlled by YPG elements will also come under the control of the Damascus administration.

STATEMENT FROM PJAK

A significant development has occurred in the organization's Iranian branch. PJAK (Kurdistan Free Life Party), known as the Iranian affiliate of the terrorist organization PKK, has clearly stated that they will not lay down their arms. Although the organization's Co-Chair, Amir Karimi, described the decision taken by the PKK as "valuable in terms of a regional solution," he said that their own organization would not participate in this process.

In his statement, Karimi said, "Öcalan's call may be a positive step toward a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue in the Middle East. However, as PJAK, we will neither lay down our arms nor disband. The decision taken by the PKK is for its own structure and does not bind PJAK."

The terrorist organization PJAK stated that the armed struggle, particularly against the Iranian regime, would continue, declaring that they would maintain their armed resistance against the Tehran administration.
