Terrorist organization PKK continues to insist on Öcalan: A claim about Mazlum Abdi that will set the agenda!
Statements coming from the PKK terrorist organization following the İmralı meeting have sparked controversy. Zagros Hiwa, the organization's so-called head of foreign relations, argued that Abdullah Öcalan must be released for negotiations to begin.
Within the scope of the Imralı process, which came to the agenda with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan to "speak in Parliament," a Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) delegation consisting of AKP's Hüseyin Yayman, MHP's Feti Yıldız, and DEM Party's Gülistan Koçyiğit had traveled to Imralı to hold a meeting.
Following the meeting, statements from high-ranking figures of the terrorist organization drew public attention.
The PKK terrorist organization claimed that they had not committed any crimes and that they had no expectations regarding an amnesty. The organization put forward the release of terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan as a condition for the process to continue.
According to a report in Sözcü newspaper, Amed Malazgirt, one of the PKK's so-called leaders in Qandil, claimed in an interview with the French news agency AFP that the organization had taken the necessary steps in the "Turkey without terrorism" process in line with Abdullah Öcalan's instructions.
Stating that they would not take any new steps until Ankara takes concrete action, Malazgirt demanded freedom for Öcalan.
Zagros Hiwa, the so-called Foreign Relations Spokesperson of the PKK terrorist organization, also stated that Abdullah Öcalan must be released for solution negotiations with Turkey to begin.
In his statement, Hiwa used the following expressions:
"For negotiations to begin, the parties must sit at the table under equal conditions. Öcalan had a decisive influence on the steps taken by the PKK as a gesture of goodwill over the last year. The Kurdish side's chief negotiator must be free to negotiate under equal conditions. This is a prerequisite for a fair peace."
Hiwa also claimed that the PKK had taken unilateral steps throughout the process, alleging that Turkey had only produced rhetoric in response and had not taken any concrete action.
Meanwhile, Abdulrahim Samawi, President of the Taml Research Center, claimed that SDF leader Ferhat Abdi Şahin, codenamed "Mazlum Kobani," and SDF Foreign Relations Official Ilham Ahmed would come to Turkey next month to meet with Abdullah Öcalan at Imralı Prison.
