The final election poll of the year has been released: The latest status of the parties after the minimum wage announcement!

Following the overthrow of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, election polls in Turkey have also been affected. While recent polls show the AKP in the lead, the minimum wage, which was announced as 22,104 TL, has caused disappointment among the public.

AREA Research interviewed 2,024 people in 26 provinces and 87 districts after the minimum wage was announced on December 24. Nefes Gazetesi's Aytunç Erkin covered the results of the AREA Research poll in his column.

In the survey, participants were asked, "If an election were held today, which party would you vote for?"

"Do you find the government's economic policy successful?",

"How does your family's economic expectation for 2025 compare to 2024?" were among the questions asked.

Furthermore, the politicians whom citizens view most favorably were also ranked.

WHICH POLITICIAN DOES THE PUBLIC VIEW MOST FAVORABLY?

When looking at positive opinions regarding politicians, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş ranks first with 60.5 percent, followed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu with 46.7 percent, and President Tayyip Erdoğan with 41.8 percent.

WHAT DOES SOCIETY SAY ABOUT THE ECONOMY?

The rate of those who find the government's economic policy successful is 22.7 percent, while those who find it unsuccessful stand at 74.4 percent. Those who gave this response answered the question "What is your family's income level?" as follows: "Our income is less than our expenses, 43.9 percent; our income is equal to our expenses, 36.1 percent; our income is more than our expenses, 20 percent."

THOSE WHO THINK THE ECONOMY WILL GET WORSE ARE IN THE MAJORITY

Those who said their family economy in 2024 was better than in 2023 are 14.7 percent, while those who said it was worse are 54.4 percent. Regarding the 2025 family economy expectation compared to 2024, 24.3 percent say it will be better, 50.6 percent say it will be worse, and 25.1 percent say it will not change.

AKP IS IN FIRST PLACE

In the poll, the situation before the distribution of undecided voters if an election were held today is as follows:

AKP 23.8 percent

CHP 21.5 percent

Undecided 20.7 percent

MHP 8 percent

DEM Party 6.8 percent

İYİ Party 5.6 percent

After the distribution of undecided voters, the picture is as follows: The AKP is in first place with 30 percent, followed by the CHP in second place with 27.1 percent, and the MHP in third place with 10.1 percent. The DEM Party with 8.6 percent and the İYİ Party with 7.1 percent pass the 7 percent national threshold.
