Trump is now the Pope: 'He would be my number one choice'
U.S. President Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image on his social media account depicting himself as the "Pope."
US President Donald Trump has made another unusual post. Amid the search for a new Pope following the passing of Pope Francis on April 21, Trump made headlines with an interesting image created by artificial intelligence.
On his own social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself depicted wearing white papal robes, without any caption. In the image, Trump is seen wearing traditional white vestments representing the Vatican, along with crucifix accessories.
FOLLOWED BY A POST FROM THE WHITE HOUSE
The post, made at 10:30 PM Washington time, quickly went viral on social media. About half an hour later, the official White House X (formerly Twitter) account also shared the same image, fueling speculation. However, no statement regarding the matter was issued by the White House.
This post by Trump brought to mind a joke he made at the White House last week. When asked by a journalist, "Who should the new Pope be?" Trump smiled and said, "I would like to be Pope. That would be my number one choice. I don't know. I don't have a preference. But I must say, we have a very good cardinal from a place called New York, let's see what happens."
NEW POPE ELECTION ON MAY 7
Following the passing of Pope Francis on April 21, the Catholic world is awaiting the new Pope. The College of Cardinals will convene in the Vatican on Wednesday, May 7, to determine the new spiritual leader.
