A 'warning' from terrorist leader Öcalan to the resolution commission: 'It would be a big mistake...'

Following the symbolic 'ceremony' where a group of PKK terrorists laid down their arms as part of the new resolution process—architected by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and dubbed 'Terror-Free Turkey' by the government—the traffic of meetings with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan continues.

The DEM Party Imralı Delegation, consisting of Pervin Buldan, Mithat Sancar, and Özgür Erol, held a meeting with terrorist leader Öcalan on July 25 that lasted approximately 3.5 hours. Three days after this date, terrorist leader Öcalan also met with his family. Present at the July 28 visit were the terrorist leader's nephew and DEM Party MP Ömer Öcalan and his legal guardian Mazlum Dinç.

Details of the conversations held during both meetings have been obtained. According to Ceren Bayar from T24, terrorist leader Öcalan made positive assessments regarding the 'ceremony' in which a group of PKK terrorists laid down their arms.

“IMPORTANT STEPS WERE TAKEN, WE APPROACHED IT WITH GOOD INTENTIONS”

It was learned that Öcalan, who claimed that he and the PKK had taken important steps and developed a well-intentioned approach, noted that “everyone must fulfill their own responsibilities.”

TERRORIST LEADER'S EXPECTATIONS FROM THE COMMISSION

The resolution commission to be established in the TBMM was also on the agenda of terrorist leader Öcalan during the aforementioned meetings. Stating that he hopes the commission will work with an inclusive method and make significant contributions to peace and democracy, it was learned that Öcalan emphasized that “the issue should be approached through the lens of the brotherhood law between Kurds and Turks and the development of Turkish democracy.”

It was reported that terrorist leader Öcalan stated that “it would be a big mistake to handle the issue solely through the lens of ‘terrorism, violence, and laying down arms.’”

Claiming that the resolution process aims for democratization, it was noted that Öcalan said, “all democratic opposition, primarily the CHP and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, should approach the process with this perspective.” Öcalan emphasized that “the process will contribute most to the democratic opposition, and that remaining outside the process would be a strategic mistake.”
