According to data from our Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, 937 thousand 369 babies were registered in the population records in 2024.

There were 15 thousand 65 twin, 290 triplet, and 6 quadruplet births.

Looking at the most preferred names, for baby girls, the name Defne was given to 7 thousand 661 babies. The name Asel was given to 7 thousand 554 babies, Zeynep to 6 thousand 722, Asya to 5 thousand 167, and Gökçe to 4 thousand 838 babies.

Among baby boys, 8 thousand 304 were named Alparslan, 5 thousand 796 were named Göktuğ, 5 thousand 34 were named Yusuf, 4 thousand 878 were named Metehan, and 4 thousand 349 were named Ömer Asaf.
