According to the latest assessments by the General Directorate of Meteorology, 1 province has been placed under an orange alert and 11 provinces under a yellow alert due to heavy rainfall expected in various regions of Turkey.

THUNDERSTORMS IN ANTALYA

It was emphasized that thunderstorms are expected in the eastern part of Antalya, while heavy rain and sleet are expected to be effective in the eastern provinces.

It was stated that the showers and thunderstorms, which will be effective again in the eastern coastal areas of Antalya in the afternoon, are estimated to be locally heavy (30-60 kg/m2).

SLEET IN THE EAST

It was noted that the precipitation expected to be seen in the eastern regions starting from the morning hours is expected to be heavy (21-50 kg/m2) in the surroundings of Bingöl, Siirt, and Şırnak, as well as the northern districts of Diyarbakır, Adıyaman, and Batman, the southern districts of Muş and Van, the southern and western districts of Bitlis, and the eastern districts of Mardin, and locally very heavy (51-75 kg/m2) in the east of Şırnak and the surroundings of Hakkari.

WARNING AGAINST FLOODS AND INUNDATION

Citizens should be careful and take precautions against negative conditions such as floods, inundation, transportation disruptions, avalanche danger, and blizzards, as well as icing and frost in high areas due to the precipitation expected to continue until tomorrow night. It was also stated that there may be heavy snowfall (over 20 cm) in places with an altitude of over 1200 m.
