Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, governor during the 'Gezi' era, becomes a lawyer
Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, who turned 68 and is a law graduate, shared his law license on his social media account on the 11th anniversary of the Gezi protests.
Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, who served as the Governor of Istanbul during the 'Gezi' era and was acquitted after spending 20 months in prison due to FETÖ charges, has become a lawyer at the age of 68 on the anniversary of Gezi. Mutlu announced the news on his social media account.
Sharing his law license on his social media account, Mutlu stated the following:
"Today we took our lawyer's oath and received our license.
After many years of serving as a District Governor and Governor, followed by 20 months of unjust imprisonment in Silivri..
A series of organization slanders, lies, and injustices that all ended in our acquittal at the Court of Cassation..
From now on, a life that will continue with the pursuit of Justice through Law..
Praise be to God for everything.. Ultimately, a journey to the afterlife where accounts will be settled fairly and swiftly..
Is everyone ready? We have been ready for a long time..
Even though we are now 68, we are as faithful, determined, excited, and healthy as we were at 28, praise be to God.. We will serve clients for justice..
However, the true Representative (Vekil) in this world and the hereafter is Almighty Allah.
We only worship Him and only seek help from Him.
Praise be to God..."

Hüseyin Avni Mutlu, who was the Governor of Istanbul during the 'Gezi' era and was acquitted after spending 20 months in prison on FETÖ charges, had previously said regarding the Gezi protests, in which 9 people died, "If a persuasive language had been used during Gezi, we could have overcome the events more easily. There are things I cannot talk about; I might write a book in the future and tell everything."
