It is alleged that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer left the gift at the British Embassy in Ankara due to his country's arms import regulations.
One of the special gifts presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to heads of state and government during the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government has encountered a legal obstacle in the United Kingdom.
It was stated that Erdoğan, who gifted the leaders attending the summit a custom-produced revolver engraved with their names along with a box of ammunition, also provided the necessary export documents for the weapons to be taken to their respective countries.
UNABLE TO TAKE IT DUE TO BRITISH LEGISLATION
According to a report by the British newspaper The Guardian, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told reporters on the plane while returning from the NATO Summit that he could not take the revolver gifted to him back to the UK due to the country's legal regulations regarding arms imports.
ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN LEFT AT THE EMBASSY IN ANKARA
The report claimed that the revolver in question was left at the British Embassy in Ankara in order to be deactivated.
