Google move regarding Ekrem İmamoğlu: They removed it immediately!

The Ministry of Interior had announced that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was suspended from his duties. Listing the grounds for İmamoğlu's arrest, the Ministry made the following statement:

"Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been arrested pursuant to the decision of the Istanbul 10th Criminal Court of Peace on charges of 'unlawfully recording personal data,' 'accepting bribes,' 'rigging tenders of public institutions or organizations,' and 'establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes.' He has been temporarily suspended from his duties by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393."

Additionally, it was announced that the election for the acting Mayor of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will be held on Wednesday, March 26.

GOOGLE REMOVED İMAMOĞLU'S TITLE 

Following the Ministry of Interior's statement, technology giant Google removed the title "Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality" next to Ekrem İmamoğlu's name from search results. Google updated İmamoğlu's profile to read "businessman and former Mayor of Beylikdüzü."

DATE SET FOR IMM MAYORAL ELECTION 

Following the removal of Ekrem İmamoğlu from office, the Ministry provided information that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will convene on March 26 to hold the election for an acting mayor.
