Governor Özkan emphasizes social justice against informal employment

Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan received SGK Provincial Director Buket İnce and the accompanying delegation at his office on the occasion of Social Security Week. During the visit, social security activities carried out across Manisa, digitalization initiatives, and strategies followed against informal employment were discussed. SGK Provincial Director İnce gave a detailed presentation to Governor Özkan regarding new projects that increase the institution's service quality and field studies.

In his speech during the reception, Governor Özkan stated that the social security system is the backbone of society and expressed that this structure directly affects the quality of life of citizens. Özkan said, "Social security is the most concrete reflection of our understanding of a social state, ensuring that individuals feel safe at every stage of life. This system is not just an insurance mechanism; it is a scale of justice where labor is protected and rights are secured."

UNCOMPROMISING FIGHT AGAINST INFORMAL EMPLOYMENT

Stating that informal employment both usurps the rights of employees and harms the state's resources, Governor Özkan gave the message that the fight will continue with determination. Reminding that preventing informality will be possible through social awareness, Özkan used the following expressions:

"The fight against informality is as critical for strengthening our state's vision of social justice as it is for protecting the rights of our employees. The healthy functioning of the system is possible only if every segment of society takes responsibility in this regard."

Governor Özkan stated that the digital transformation in the SGK has brought speed and transparency to citizens, congratulated all institution employees on their week, and wished them continued success in their work.
