Governor's Office announces: Designated areas for meetings and demonstrations in Istanbul for 2025 have been determined

The Istanbul Governor's Office has announced to the public the areas suitable for meetings and protest marches to be held in the city for 2025. In the statement made by the Governor's Office, emphasis was placed on the importance of exercising the right to hold meetings and protest marches, which is guaranteed by the constitution and laws, in accordance with the principles determined for the sake of public order and security.

The Governor's Office stated that these regulations were made within the framework of the “Law on Meetings and Protest Marches” and are updated every January in line with the provisions of the relevant regulations.

MEETING AND DEMONSTRATION AREAS DETERMINED BY DISTRICT

In the statement from the Governor's Office, the meeting and demonstration areas determined on a district basis for 2025 were listed as follows:

Adalar: Büyükada Atatürk Square

Arnavutköy: July 15 Democracy and Martyrs Square, Hadımköy Regional Park

Avcılar: Avcılar IDO Pier parking area

Bağcılar: Bağcılar Square, Kirazlı Metro Station parking area

Başakşehir: Pond Ceremony Area

Bayrampaşa: Intersection of Yahya Kemal Street and Uygur Street

Beykoz: Küçüksu Meadow area

Beylikdüzü: Cumhuriyet Street Event Area

Çatalca: Cumhuriyet Square, Mehmetçik Square (except Thursdays)

Çekmeköy: Taşdelen Neighborhood Turgut Özal Street, Hamidiye Neighborhood Barışyolu Street

Esenler: Birlik Neighborhood Square, Intersection of Mustafa Şentop Street and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Boulevard

The statement emphasized that criteria such as public order, the maintenance of general security, and ensuring that the daily lives of citizens are not excessively disrupted were taken into account when determining these areas.
