Grandfather and grandson attack traffic police in Ünye

The incident occurred on Hükümet Street in the Liseler neighborhood of Ünye, Ordu. According to the information obtained, teams from the Ünye District Police Department's Traffic Registration and Bureau were conducting motorcycle inspections when they stopped a 15-year-old unlicensed rider named A.A.D. The teams intended to issue a penalty to the rider, who was found to be unlicensed and not wearing a helmet. Abdullah D., the grandfather of the unlicensed rider A.A.D., became involved in the situation at the scene where the motorcycle was stopped.

Grandfather Abdullah D. caused difficulties for the traffic officer, Erol G., who stated that a procedure would be carried out. As the argument escalated, Abdullah D. struck the traffic officer on the head with a chair, causing an injury.

OFFICER FIRED ONE WARNING SHOT

During the incident, the officer under attack, Erol G., fired one shot into the air. Upon notification by bystanders, numerous police teams were dispatched to the area. Following initial intervention by medical teams arriving at the scene, the injured police officer was taken to Ünye State Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, Abdullah D., who injured the police officer, and his grandson A.A.D., who was riding the motorcycle without a license or helmet, were taken into custody.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.
