Following the meeting between President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis, a visa-on-arrival program valid for 10 islands in Greece has been approved.

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to Habertürk's questions regarding the details of this visa.

A simplified visa procedure has been provided for Turkish citizens and their families to obtain a visa upon entry into Greece. This visa will allow for a stay of up to seven days in Greece. The visa fee will be 60 Euros (1873 TL). It will have limited regional validity in Greece. It will be implemented on 10 islands. It will be a 12-month pilot program. The application has been approved by the European Commission, which is responsible for the functioning of the Schengen system.

WHICH ISLANDS WILL IT BE APPLIED TO?

On the other hand, the 10 Greek islands covered by the 7-day visa are expected to be as follows: Chios, Lesbos, Rhodes, Samos, Kos, Kastellorizo, Leros, Kalymnos, Symi, Lemnos.
