Gürsel Tekin files criminal complaint against Aziz İhsan Aktaş

Gürsel Tekin made statements to members of the press at the Republican People's Party (CHP) provincial building in Sarıyer. Starting his remarks by addressing the 87th anniversary of the passing of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Tekin said, ''It is the anniversary of the day our country's founder and our party's founding leader, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, lost his life 87 years ago. Today, we are soldiers of this party, which he entrusted to us as a paternal home. We will do our best to preserve the works he left us, both the values of the Republic and the Republican People's Party. If people belonging to many different political parties are shedding tears for Atatürk today, we all need to look at the reason for this."

"HE USED VERY NEGATIVE LANGUAGE BY MENTIONING THE NAMES OF OUR PARTY'S EXECUTIVES"

Describing the CHP as a paternal home, Gürsel Tekin stated, "There are various reasons why the corporate identity of the Republican People's Party is being targeted. One of these reasons is the individual who is a member of the Aziz İhsan Aktaş organization, whom you have been reading about in various newspapers and seeing on television in recent days. Last week, in a television program, he used very negative language by mentioning both our party's name and the names of our party's executives. Although we had wanted to take this action and these steps on that same day, I would have preferred for the party's headquarters executives to do it; when that did not happen, this duty naturally fell to us. We are filing a criminal complaint regarding this individual because the Republican People's Party is clean. No one has the power to tarnish the corporate identity of the Republican People's Party, and we will never allow it."
